The Seafarer’s Memorial sits across the Homer Harbor overlooking Kachemak Bay. This memorial was founded in early 1990s by the North Pacific Fisheries Association as a way to honor those lost at sea. A state grant and fundraiser was used for materials and supplies, community volunteers provided the labor and Mark Degraffenried created the sculpture’s design.
